Post-gig ringing used to follow me for two days after every show. Wore Music SoundPRO at a drum and bass night last month. Woke up in total silence. Not one bad morning since.

Jake Turner / Trustpilot

Six festivals last summer, ringing ears after every one. This year I wore Music SoundPRO from the first song. Six festivals done. Zero ringing mornings. Wish I’d found these sooner

Chloe Marsh / Facebook

Left a rock show at midnight expecting the usual ringing walk home. Nothing at all. Same the Friday after. Still nothing. Ten consecutive gigs now without a single bad morning after

Ryan Dolan / Google

Tried foam plugs at shows for years and always gave up by song two. Everything sounded underwater. Bollsen is the first earplug that has ever actually sounded like real music.

Sarah Klein / Trustpilot

I play violin in an orchestra and was terrified earplugs would wreck my pitch. Huge relief for me

Ingrid Holst / Google

Sceptical any earplug could preserve low end at a techno night. The sub still came through, the mix still made sense. Just at a volume that did not leave me wrecked the next morning.

Marco Ferretti / Facebook

Every earplug I tried either fell out by midnight or started hurting after an hour. Music SoundPRO stayed put through a full six-hour festival day and I forgot I was wearing them.

Priya Nair / Trustpilot

Small ear canals mean most plugs are useless for me. Used the AI ear measuring and got my exact size. Wore them through a three-hour DJ set without adjusting once. Game changer.

Tom Beckett / Facebook

Tried three other brands before these. All either loose or painful by hour two. Music SoundPRO moulded to my ear canal by the first song and stayed there until I took them out.

Lena Vogel / Google

Wrong size delivered. Contacted support at 9pm reply within 4hrs by Tom. Replacement shipped next morning, arrived in 2 days. Full resolution in under 72hrs with no return required from me.

Asked a technical question about filter ratings before buying. Received a detailed response within 3hrs including a product comparison. Purchased the same day based on that info alone.

Ordered from Portugal arrived in 4 business days, packaging intact, sizing guide included. Received a follow-up email after 7 days to confirm fit. Rare post-sale care from any brand.

Frequently asked questions about good earplugs for Music

Will the music still sound good with earplugs in?

This is the most common concern. And with foam plugs, it’s a fair one. Music SoundPRO works differently. Foam swells until it seals your ear shut, and that’s where the underwater sound comes from. The silicone lamellae in Music SoundPRO bring the volume down by SNR 24 dB instead. Highs drop a little more than bass, same as with any passive earplug, but the music is still there, only quieter. Plenty of customers tell us a loud room sounds cleaner this way.

What's the difference between Music SoundPRO and cheap foam earplugs?

Foam plugs block noise by simply sealing everything out. The result: muffled, distorted sound. Most people pull them out after two songs, and their hearing is unprotected for the rest of the night. Music SoundPRO turns the volume down. It doesn’t seal everything out. Add in: reusable for 100+ concerts, invisible in your ear, and always on you in the metal case. A disposable foam plug costs 20p and gets used once. Music SoundPRO costs 27p per concert across 100 uses. The difference is that with Music SoundPRO you’re actually protected all night without giving up the music.

How do I know which size is right for me?

Most adults fit well in the standard size (Medium). If you’re unsure, use our AR KI Tech measurement service: two photos of your ears and our AI finds your exact ear canal size in seconds. No audiologist, no guessing, no bad fit. And if you find after purchase that the size isn’t right, we’ll swap them out. No problem.

Will they stay in all night, even while dancing?

Yes. The soft 2-flange silicone adapts to your ear canal and actually seats better with body heat as the night goes on. Head movement, dancing, sweating, leaning in to talk to someone: Music SoundPRO stays put. Customers report full six-hour festival days without adjusting once. The tab also gives you full control whenever you want to take them out.

When should I start using hearing protection?

There’s no obligation to wear earplugs at a concert. But hearing can be permanently and irreversibly damaged at volumes as low as 80 decibels. Most concerts exceed that level for several hours straight. If you’re regularly exposed to loud sound, as a musician, DJ, or venue staff, the case for protection is even stronger. The damage is silent, cumulative, and permanent. There is no undo.

Why do musicians wear our earplugs?

Protection, yes. But two other factors matter just as much to musicians: sound quality and comfort. Music SoundPRO lowers the volume without foam’s dull, blocked-up sound, so you can still hear what you’re playing. The soft silicone also moulds to the ear canal so it sits securely and comfortably, even during hours of performance.

How do I use Music SoundPRO?

Gently push the clean earplugs into your ear canal while turning them slightly. They should seal the ear canal completely but never be forced in. The tab makes them easy to remove at any time. For best results, make sure you have the right size. If you’re unsure, use the AR KI Tech ear measurement before ordering.

What if I don't like them?

Nothing. You have 40 days to try them. If you’re not satisfied for any reason, we refund you in full. No questions, no forms, no back and forth. Over 1 million customers worldwide and +480 five-star reviews speak for themselves. But you don’t have to take our word for it.

Great earplugs, horrible case.

I wore these earplugs to a music festival, and they were great! They protected my hearing without taking away from the sound quality of the performances. However, the case that the earplugs come in is terrible. Once I’d taken them out of the plastic bag and put them in the case, the earplugs kept sticking to the bottom and I had a hard time getting them out.

Helps me incredibly well!

The constant headaches after club visits are a thing of the past. The music was always so loud that I was out of commission with headaches all day the next day. The ear protection helps me immensely, but I can still talk to my friends.

Hilft mir unheimlich gut!

Tested at a Sigur Ros gig

I lost my last “gig” earplugs so did a little digging around and ordered these ones from Bollsen. Their first test was front row seats at Sigur Ros which is a proper test! Sound quality was excellent across the range in the gig (they play very loud and very quiet) and the next day I definitely feel my ears had been protected.

Hearing protection for Samba band rehearsals.

I’ve had quite a few pairs of various earplugs over the 25+ years playing in loud samba type, street percussion bands with up to 40 or so players on occasion, that’s loud!! Large surdo drums with high pitched smaller drums, all hit very hard along with various metal agogos, cowbells and the daddy of the high ‘crack’ a small unassuming hand held Tamborim. Over time there is potential to develop tinnitus so regret not wearing ear protection over a lifetime of being involved with loud music of some variety. Earplugs never look good value and the Bollsen are no exception, however they do work very well taking out the damaging sounds but still being able to hear the music and what I’m playing as my part as a coherent whole. Due to the nature of them, size etc they’re easily mislaid or lost, I managed to keep my last pair for over two years, a wee canister to put on a keyring helps and there’s one with the Bollsen too. I kept costs down by clubbing together and buying three pairs which brings the price to a better level. I can recommend the Bollsen and hope I can retain these for at least 2 yrs with care, maybe longer!

Questions & answers

Can Music SoundPRO Earplugs be used by a 12 year old? Or are the kids earplugs better? I need a pair for me and a 12 year old for use at a rock concert

Carol S. · 2026-08-12

Answer from BOLLSEN

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

For a 12-year-old, We would recommend our Kidz+ earplugs. They are designed for younger users and are generally better suited to smaller ear canals, which can provide a more secure and comfortable fit.

Kidz+ can also be used for music, concerts, and other noisy environments. They provide 24 dB SNR noise reduction, helping to lower the overall sound level while still allowing the user to remain aware of the surrounding environment.

For yourself, I would recommend Music SoundPRO.

Best regards,

I have the kind of ear shape which don’t fit regular earphones which most people use, so can you tell me how this AI fit works and if these will stay on without hurting?

Rebecca W. · 2026-03-15

Answer from BOLLSEN

Hello,

Thank you very much for your message and for your question.

Yes, in your case, AR-KI could be especially helpful. It is designed for people whose ears do not fit standard products comfortably, including those who often have trouble with regular earphones or standard-size earplugs.

In simple terms, once you select the earplugs you want, you can add the AR-KI measuring service to the order. You then provide photos of your ears, and the system uses them to customize the earplug size for your ears rather than relying only on the default standard size.

This can be especially helpful for people with smaller or larger ear canals than average, or for anyone who has previously struggled with comfort, fit, or pressure from regular ear products.

Regarding comfort, the purpose of AR-KI is exactly to reduce the risk of a poor fit. A better fit usually means the earplugs are more likely to stay in place properly and feel more comfortable, without unnecessary pressure or pain.

So if regular earphones usually do not fit your ears well, I would definitely recommend ordering with the AR-KI service included rather than choosing the standard size alone. That will give you the best chance of receiving earplugs that stay in place well and feel comfortable.

If you need any help with how to place the order and add the AR-KI service, we will be very happy to assist you.

Best regards.
