Independent Lab Testing & Certification

Every BOLLSEN earplug design is tested by an independent laboratory before it reaches you. Our earplugs are tested and certified by PZT GmbH in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, a notified body (No. 1974) for personal protective equipment in the European Union.

In August 2026 PZT renewed our EU type-examination certificate (No. 2322102-a) under the European standard EN 352-2:2020+A1:2024 and the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425. It covers Life+, Life+ Pink, Music SoundPRO, Moto+, WorkPRO, Watersafe+ and Kidz+, and it is valid until August 2031.

The certified values are an SNR (Single Number Rating) of 24 dB, with H = 24 dB, M = 21 dB and L = 19 dB for high, medium and low frequencies. PZT also checks our production at random. The latest check, in March 2024, confirmed that production is consistent from sample to sample.

The European standard for earplugs, EN 352-2:2020+A1:2024, under the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425. The certificate covers Life+, Life+ Pink, Music SoundPRO, Moto+, WorkPRO, Watersafe+ and Kidz+.

SNR stands for Single Number Rating. It is one figure for how much an earplug lowers noise across all frequencies. The H, M and L values show the reduction for high, medium and low sounds.
